Despite starting Round 3 of the Adelaide University Competitive Programming League one member short, team Overcooked managed to solve 5 out of 10 problems, marking a major leap from our earlier rounds. Our improved performance was the result of consistent preparation and careful review of previous contest questions.

After spotting an opening for technical members with the Adelaide Rover Team, I leveraged a connection with a friend on their committee to support my application. This opportunity underscored the value of networking in gaining insider insights and strengthening my candidacy.

In Round 2 of the Adelaide University Competitive Programming League, Team Overcooked returned with stronger preparation and a better understanding of the challenge. After studying solutions from the previous round, we managed to solve two problems within the time limit, an improvement we were proud of.

As Team Overcooked, my friends and I entered the Adelaide University Competitive Programming League Facing off against tough, time-bound algorithmic problems, we only managed to solve one question in the first round, with our confidence hilariously shaken by a n ‘unethically difficult’ third problem. Despite the rocky start, the experience was a fun and eye-opening way to improve our teamwork, problem-solving skills, and resilience under pressure.

Electronic Trading Competition hosted by Jane Street. We developed an algorithmic trading bot that aims to maximise stock profits when deployed in a simulated high-paced stock market.

The Career Expo, held on the 13th of March at the University of Adelaide’s North Terrace Campus, was a networking event where leading companies showcased their undergraduate and graduate opportunities. As an attendee, I had the chance to engage with representatives from tech-focused organisations such as ASC, SHOAL, Citadel, and Jane Street.

As a graduate of the Ravi Study Program (RSP) 2023–2024, I recently had the chance to meet with students from the 2024–2025 cohort. During our catch-up, I shared insights on navigating the tech recruitment process, from interview preparation to industry expectations. I also ran a few mock interview sessions to help them refine their communication and problem-solving skills.

On March 7th, I attended DevClimb, a networking event that uniquely combines programming with bouldering. The active, informal setting made it easy to connect with fellow tech enthusiasts and build genuine relationships. Sharing the challenge of climbing helped break the ice and foster a sense of camaraderie beyond typical networking events.
